MARCH 2020
FRONT ENTRANCE: In the January newsletter we optimistically stated that the work on the monument should have already been started. Obviously that was not the case, so you’re wondering…what happened? Well, the city needed to approve the monument project, and the beaurocratic process took much longer than we anticipated. The good news is that the wall below the tree has been re-stuccoed which means our landscapers can now put in the plantings on both sides of the entrance without waiting for the monument work to be completed. We hope, however, that that construction will start soon!
LANDSCAPE: You have no doubt noticed that over the past year our landscape committee has made tremendous improvements in the appearance of our community. They continue to look at areas that could use some additional plantings. If you feel that an area near you has been neglected, let our management company know, and the committee will address your concerns on their next walk-thru (3rd Friday of the month). As per our Community Rules, residents are not allowed to alter the common area. Board approval is needed for all planting.
Some residents have commented that the bushes along the path from del Obispo look dead. The landscapers have assured us they are not. They suffered from frost during the very cold days we experienced and needed to be cut back.
WEBSITE: We’re still looking for a volunteer or volunteers to help with postings on the website. The Board will be scheduling a training session in the next few weeks, so if you’re interested, let the management company know. The website can be a very useful communication tool, but only if everyone (including tenants) are signed in with their email address, and we are able to keep the information current. www.captainshill.org
POOL SCHEDULE: We anticipate that the pool will be heated beginning April 5.
